Advance Trading incorporated in 1980 as a brainchild of six individuals in North America with experience in the grain industry as elevator managers and merchandising consultants. Advance was formed to fulfill a need as an independent source of information for upcountry grain elevators, providing worldwide perspectives in the market. In order to deliver unbiased, sound marketing advice and remain committed to all its customers, Advance Trading chose to be independent.

Today, Advance Trading works with over 2,200 customers (from livestock and grain producers to end-users and commercial elevators) throughout the world and continues to expand with international ties. Commercial upcountry elevator merchandising continues to be our core business. Advance also has specialized brokerage/consultants that focus on price risk management and market guidance for producers, end-users including grain and feed mills, ethanol producers, feed lots and egg & pig producers.

Advance is strategically placed in rural areas to more effectively communicate and educate our commercial and producer customers to profitable, executable strategies. Our brokers' backgrounds include all aspects of the grain industry, enabling Advance to draw on experience and insights from commercial grain and processing firms. Sharing ideas and information with our customer base provides our customers with a market perspective similar to a multi-national grain firm. Advance Trading North American head office employs full time market analysts to support customers and brokers with fundamental economic analysis for grains, oilseeds and livestock products. Our philosophy is centered on fundamental economic analysis. We gather information from our producers, commercial customers and network of contacts worldwide. We are able to develop well reasoned “what if” supply/demand scenarios to keep risk management  decisions objective.

We take pride in maintaining our unbiased objectivity in the marketplace. Our livelihood is dependent on the profitability of our customers. We do not buy or sell grain in the marketplace; instead we provide impartial analysis and recommendations for the benefit of our customers.
